We bought this refrigerator over a year ago. Since the place was not built yet, we plugged it in about a week ago. It worked for only one day and stopped cooling. The fan was working but after a while that too stopped working. Could this be caused by the relay-capacitor combo that plugs on the compressor housing? The part is commonly known as Overload PTCR Combo.

Thanks in advance

How does a repair tech determine if a crack on my ceramic cooktop is caused by thermal shock? Is there some definitive way to tell if a crack is or is not thermal related?

My 1 1/2 yr old kitchenaid electric range has a crack on the cooktop, and the guy who came to look at it said it wasn't caused by thermal shock. I don't believe it based on how I know I use the stove. What are the typical signs that the crack is thermally related or not.
