Default maytag lower bearing repl.
Model Number: lat8826aae   Brand: maytag   Appliance Age: 5-10 years

I need to replace the lower bearing & can't remmeber if it's pressed into the clutch or onto the shaft, & is it a horrible job? I've repaired the upper sleeve bearing, seal and stem countless times & can't ever remember having to do the lower bearing.

Thanks,

Hi,

It's been sometime since I have had to replace one, but I don't recall it being anything difficult to do.

I think the bearing just sits on top of the brake.

Maybe the service manual will be of some help to you.
