Humidifier wont work at all

Humidstat clicks when you raise setting up or down but unit just stopped running last winter and do not want to go thru another winter with out it.
Berfore I call in a repair man, I was wondering what is most likely cause and how to fix myself.

Search for your manual and have a look at the most common issues, if it's written then this is clear enough that you can possibly fix this yourself.
If you want free diagnose, call an Appliance repair near you.. there's a lot of free fix thru phone out there.
