- Allowed enough time for dehumidifier to drain before taking out bucket to empty
- Water pouring from unit seemingly from all over under there - everything wet before got the bucket back in (difficult because of running water) - Pulled out plug and set aside with bucket in it. Bucket filled halfway up in a couple of hours without running. Emptied it and put in garage with bucket not in and took a while for water to stop coming out from unit. Edgestar is a great dehumidifier plus it has the rare feature of the fan turning off when the compressor turns off and the set humidity is reached so I really like it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong. Since it is summer I am sure it is not icing up. Thank you for any help/suggestions. The unit is 2 years old and worked perfectly until now. |

I had the same problem and was out shopping for a new dehumidifier, and an associate at one of the big box stores asked what i was shopping for. I explained what was going on and he said it was most likely a plugged drain hole on the tray below the evaporator and to check that before I bought a new one. I went home and took it apart and sure enough it was plugged with crud and the water was running over the top of the tray all over the floor around the unit. It's been running great ever since.
