These here may help with disassembly.

Basically take the pump out towards you, remove hose(s) and fire up the pump and can visually see if turning our not. If just hummmming and not turning = new pump time.

I removed the pump, only 3 screws in back, and the electrical connection is hidden in the rear. I hot wired the pump on my bench and got a hum. I put a small screw driver thru the top slot where I could see the armature shaft fan. The fan blade wouldn't move, but I dislodged it, and then it moved freely. In doing that I noticed that on the bottom of the pump is a protruding arm, about 1/2 in. long, that rotates as the shaft rotates. This is, in retrospect, easily accessible with the water pan removed. I believe it is there for the service person/user to "unfreeze" a stuck shaft, if stuck from corrosion due to limited use, or, to show that the shaft rotates easily and is not frozen. My point is, in my case, I could have moved that arm, realized it was temporarily stuck, and dislodged it. After freeing it up the pump runs properly when bench powered. I then reinstalled the pump, turned the switch to clean, and could clearly hear the pump running. I then turned the switch to on, and I now have ice and a properly functioning pump with a waterfall.
I believe the test for no ice and no waterfall is to turn the switch to clean. If the pump doesn't run but hums, it is either frozen or bad, and may be easily unfrozen by the maneuver I described without removing it.
