Model Number: 110.22892100 Brand: Kenmore Appliance Age: 5-10 years
I have a Kenmore 80 washing machine that is about 8 years old. It agitates during the cycle, stops agitating and then the timer clicks to spin, like it always has. It tries to spin and sounds like it is spinning, but the drum brake seems to be on. I push the on/off switch in to shut it off....pull it out and then the brake seems to unlock. Sometimes it starts to spin and other times I needs to help it to start and then it picks up speed. Any thoughts as to what this could be? Anyone?? Could it be a timer issue that isn't releasing the break or is there something wrong with the transmission? I hate to call a repair man, but I am not too sure what to do!

From past answers, seems like the motor is going.

OK, you have a washing machine - don;t know what made me think Dryer! My bad and it's a Monday.
Even though it's a washer, motor weakening or dying might be the cause as to why your washer is not spinning and needs help to get started. other issues:
Again, sorry about the screw up before. |
