Model Number: MBDB800AWB Brand: Maytag Appliance Age: 5-10 years
Our dishwasher is going on about 6-yrs of age, and it now fails to do a thorough cleaning of dishes & glasses. The service tech visits, for this unit, has averaged about once per year of the dishwasher's age. It is still under the protection plan warranty, but we have been told that we've exceeded the monetary allowance for continued service. Therefore, we are left to deal with the problem ourselves.
The unit will run through the wash cycle just fine, but will not clean. At first, I thought that it might be the orifices in the spray arm, and I cleared each one of them with a tooth pick. Still - not cleaning. The only other thing I can think of might be the filter, but I don't know how to get to it. If anyone could help me with this we would be MOST appreciative. Advanced thanks. Nathan .................................................. ......... Correction: The model number is MDBD880AWB. Please forgive my error above. Last edited by NLAlston; 11-03-2009 at 11:04 PM.. Many of the service techs I know tell me a majority of dishwasher cleaning issues can be solved with a cleaning product called Glisten.
http://www.apwagner.com/index.php?ma...ducts_id=62064 My customers tell me this is a great product, and return regularly to purchase more! |

Hi,
One of the first things I check on any dishwasher with a complaint of clean-ability is water softness. If you do not have soft water then your dishwasher soap will not work properly. The hard water build up also does not do the water pump and other parts of the dishwasher any good. Even if you have a water softener it may not be working correctly or you may simply be running out of soft water before you run the dishwasher. There are test strips you can by to test your water softness. |
