Default kenmore elite washer wont agitate
Model Number: 110.22942100   Brand: kenmore   Appliance Age: 5-10 years

I have a kenmore elite washer that wont agitate properly. The bottom agitator agitates perfectly, and the top agitator grinds and agitates sporadically. Washer spins fine. Would I need to replace the agitator cam with the dogs, or the entire auger. Or am I way off here? PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi,

Your washer was manufactured by Whirlpool for Sears.

You need to replace the agitator dogs. Don't worry as this is a cheap and easy repair that you can do yourself.

I helped another member at this URL with step by step instructions and photos.

I figured as much, just wanted to be sure. The only difference is that on this washer, everything can be disassembled to change the cam dogs without taking the agitator off. There is no nut, just a plastic nut that unscrews by using a 1/2" drive extension. Thanks for your advice, I will replace the dogs and let you know how it works.
